Dog Licence Application
Return to MyEsquimalt accounts

All dogs over the age of four months must be licensed every year with the Township. Having a dog licence will help protect your dog by providing an easy to identify dog tag. If your dog is lost, their tag will be the fastest way to find them. If your dog is found unlicensed you will be issued a ticket and a penalty will be incurred in accordance with the Township of Esquimalt Animal Control Bylaw 2841 .

New licences for guide dogs and dogs that have been sterilized within the 12 months prior to the application cannot be purchased online, please email dogs@esquimalt.ca to obtain your free dog tag.

The Township will send a licence renewal every year when your tag needs to be renewed.
Please notify the Township when your contact information has changed, you have moved or no longer have a dog.

Please note that dog tags purchased online will be mailed to your address provided. This may take up to two weeks, depending on postal delivery times. If you require a tag sooner, please click here for other options.
